My Vaquero backfires bad

So I've been reading many threads on this topic and I think I've come to a conclusion .

I've only had this bike for about two weeks now and have learned that it has Rush mufflers on it and a K&N filter . I don't see a fuel programmer which would explain the excessive popping and backfiring .

I've put a marble in the hose behind the right side cover which didn't help . Should I dig deeper and check to see if the throttle body gasket has been done ? I also noticed this bike has no 02 sensor .

Is there anything I'm missing ? I do plan on either getting a Dobeck or doing the Ivan upgrade to resolve this issue .

Until then I'll just put up with it .

Not sure if you are coming to the rally in NY so if you are you might need to ride down to see Ivan to get your ECU Ivanized so it takes care of your issue

Would love to make the trip down to NY but I don't think the budget could handle it after my big purchase .

I've heard Ivan is the way to go . I've read nothing but great things about him . To bad he doesn't make house calls !! I'll look into sending the unit to him and get it done . Not sure how much down time I'll have while waiting though .

If it makes you feel any better, I just ate an entire can of beans so I'll be backfiring bad pretty soon. Your Vaq is in good company.

Freeride, from what I have read you save shipping and the exchange rate. Should more than cover your gas on such a trip. Just not the other costs, but I'm just saying. Me I just suck it up and get more annoyed at the other Non-Ivan aspects. Some day soon the downtime for me will out weigh the benefits and I will pull the ECU for shipping. i'm so scared to do it in the winter since plastics break to easy, I would rather do it warm to eliminate and accidents/extra costs.

Thanks for all the help guys . I know if I want my bike to run to it's fullest I would do the Ivan's flash . I'm definitely going to do it . Just have to decide when it's a good time to be without my bike for a bit .

I am from Sask also, when I sent mine in to get reflashed, the turn around was only 6 days! don't know if I got lucky but that's all it took to send and get back to me..
