Possible, that you're more playing with the throttle while listening to the new exhaust sound ?

If you have a fuel module, try retuning it.
I did on my oem pipes and ended up with slightly different settings. ..... or retune your wrist :) Pete. |

Open exhaust = less backpressure = less torque = more throttle (even if you don't realize it).

I figured it out...a combination of playing with the new volume and more around town riding. Went on the highway and got a solid 42 mpg. Whew...I was worried for a bit!

So the question is, how does it sound? I have been contemplating it, looking for a bit more sound out of the stock exhaust.

Bought my first Nomad (no baffles), rode it two thousand miles home. Didn't like the constant noise (already deaf in one ear due to motocross) and put stock mufflers on it. Mileage improved 1-2 mpg.

To me it's a little deper, throatier, and a little louder without being obnoxiously loud.
so far I like it. |
