Made an impulse buy

Well I traded in the vaquero for a BMW two days ago. I loved my Vaquero and just got it where I was comfortable and then did a stupid thing and went to a BMW factory ride day with a friend 3 weeks ago. I just liked the sporty and smooth ride so much that I pulled the trigger a week later. I want to thank everyone for the help in getting me set up on the Kawasaki.

The riding position has to be quite a bit different isn't it?

The RT is a great sport touring bike. Many try to duplicate it (even BMW), but can't. Must be the motor. I have the Concours 14 which is in the same class of riding and the RT always comes out on top.

Good luck and ride safe.

A friend of mine had a BMW full touring bike, traded his for a Dicate Multistrada, lost the wind protection and every thing that came on a full tour. and He loves it. I don't Know why but He is happy. So I'm happy for him. Just ride safe and be happy.

Thanks all. I have 1230km on it in the first week. It is an awesome machine. Not as nice looking as the Vaquero though. It (the Vaquero) is sitting at the dealer now. I got 11200 for the trade-in and they are asking 12999. It had 13200km on it. This dealer sells Ducati, Yamaha, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory (good deals now) and of course BMW. Lots of inventory which I am sure helps the sales figures.

I know what you mean. Sold the Vaquero and bought this

Can ride all day, 500miles with no back pain or discomfort.

I went the other way, added a VN1600 to my herd, alongside my BMW R1200RT and BMW R1100RS. Each has a different feel, different sense of the road. When I ride my R1200RT I feel like I want to "take" the road, enjoy the road. But on my Vulcan its more relaxed, easy going, sit back and enjoy the view.

Good choice by the way. Its hard to beat the smooth output of that BMW flat twin, they want to run no matter the RPMs.
