I remember reading Chucks post as he was doing his last ride. His daily post of his journey triggered ideas in my head about some day of biking all over the country. I was a Kawanow lurker back then and a little leery of joining anything on the Internet. I was doing research on Nomads which lead me to this site. I was on a Vn800 in '08. I hit a deer and totaled it which lead to the purchase of my 1600 in February '09. I hit another deer that year in June, so I got me another 1600.

I remember Chucks last post ended with something like, "I tired, I sleep".
So, it's a pretty good idea not to ride fatigued.

I never got to meet him, but heard very good things about the guy.

Chuck was the very first fella I ever met at the first Kawanow rally in Elkins WV, I'll never forget him walking up to me and introducing himself as I pulled into the motel parking lot.
I can still picture him in his vest and cowboy hat like it was yesterday. He was a real genuine guy and its a shame that he left us so soon.
