If I may...
Heady Topper is available at http://www.headyspotter.com/retail-locations/

Not sure how stuck you are on your routes?
Take a look at this alternative for some of the ride.
From North Adams, Mass. to Route 100 north in Vermont to rt.103 west to rt. 140 west to Wallingford, rt. 7 north
to Rutland, Brandon and Middlebury. Middlebury has the last A & W restaurant in Vt. Rt. 7 north to Burlington, Colchester.
Route 2 west to Alburg, and into NY. rt. 9B south to rt. 9 south to Plattsburg.
The Vermont side of Lake Champlain gives you more vista of the lake then rt. 9.
Personally I would stay in Saratoga Springs instead of Amesterdam. But that's just me.

I would like to do this ride with you, meeting up at the Bluebonnet and do the NY portion. I am in Western MA. Is your southern portion (Nhmptn - Bennington & Bennington - Burlington) set to see certain things? Trevor

Thanks for the rout Loafer. I took a look at it and certainly is an option. I decided just going up Rt 7 so Neil had a chance to ride Rt. 2 west of Williamstown to Rt. 22. He's only gone as far as North Adams. Martin, Laura and I rode it last year and thought that part of Rt 2 was spectacular great views and great road. I decided on Amsterdam because the price of the hotel was cheaper and couldn't decide to take Rt 30 or Rt. 10 as we make our way down the Adirondacks. Amsterdam is the closest to each road. If you've been on both which one would you choose? Rt. 10 looks like it could be more scenic and more twists but I don't know the condition of any of the roads up there.

Hey Trevor

Glad to have you along. When we ride MA we usually meet at Bub's or the Bluebonnet. That early in the morning the Bluebonnet was the choice. Like I said above I only chose that rout so Neil could ride Rt 2 west of Williamstown. I don't have any particular sights along any of the routs yet. If you have another option or want to see something in particular post it on the thread. Laura and I have our hotel reservations in place.

I'm having knee surgery Tues. and won't be riding for a few weeks. We do a lot of riding in western MA, northern CT and lower VT. Lets plan getting out before trip.

Good Luck with the surgery and don't push yourself after it, need to heal up correctly.

If you haven't done Rte. 143 (Nhmptn area) here is a change to your route. http://mapq.st/1HYWGgA

Another route on some town roads good roads except for a few miles on Zoar Rd, Charlemont http://mapq.st/1KGxtbM

Above are just suggestions, I enjoy riding no matter which road I take.

As for "Lets plan getting out before trip" we will need to set something up. I am leaving Fri for NM be back July 1 then leave for NC/VA July 15th to 29th. Getting some ride time in this year, retirement is GOOD.

I will look at the hotel and make some arrangements

New roads are always fun to explore, we done rt.116 to 2 a few times last year so choosing one of your routs or lofers VT rout is fine with me. Perhaps Neil and Martin can take a look and see which one they would like to ride. Sounds like your getting a lot of riding in this year. Are you doing the Blue Ridge Pkwy

We have done the Blue Ridge/Skyline rides. This time we are doing the coast down to Savannah, across to New Orleans, San Antonio then on to NM for 4 days or so at a Meet & Greet. Coming home Grand Canyon, Bryce, Yellowstone, Bad Lands, Michigan into Canada to NY and home, mainly on secondary roads.
