Just a little toll tip if you're not use to them. Stay to the left and watch when you put your right foot down when coming in to the toll. There is usually some oil on the ground at the toll plazas in the center of the lane.

Whatever your toll is going to be just stick a coupe of dollar bills inside your glove at the rest stop that is before your exit if you don't want to dig for it.

I never mind digging. I put the bike in neutral and I chit chat with the person in the toll both while I'm digging for the toll. I usually keep my wallet in my shirt pocket so I take off my gloves and unzip the jacket to get the cash out.

Take your time. The people behind you can wait.

Thanks for the info Neil. It's been 25 plus years since I had to ride through a toll. I was thinking about oil in the plaza. I'm not concerned about people behind me. With my V/H baggers wouldn't hear them calling me any bad names. We know those MA drivers have no patience getting though the toll. For that fact neither do I in my car. I use to mumble bad things at the 90/84 toll that one can get really backed up.

Correct. That's usually how I get to 495. I really like riding down RT 16.

That looks like a good way. I could meet him off 197 which we rode last week. I also might have an issue. A couple of weeks ago I hooked up a 12v ground to the frame and took the pos. screw to the battery off to hook up the pos wire. screwed it back down and everything was fine but I noticed my clock rest to 1:01. Thought ok fine must of lost the connection pos. connection for a sec. rest the clock and no problem last week with you guys. Rode thurs. no issues. Had it on the tender until today. Started fine maybe took a few more cranks just thought that was due to the temp. Rode to N.Hampton ate and when I went to start it, it hesitated like the battery was dead but it did start and no issues on the 50 miles home.had stalled it out while in traffic and it started right up. I did notice the clock rest back to 1:01. I was thinking about the battery on the way home it's a 2005 and most likely with 17000 it has not been changed. After reading the slow crank clock rest thread I guess it is the battery. I really want to wait until spring before replacing it, only a few more weeks left. Whats your feeling think it will be fine for a few more rides? Can it do damage to the electrical system?

If it's just the battery dying it can't do any damage to the electrical system.

We could meet in Quinebaug, right where routes 131 and 197 intersect.



As far as your battery issue goes, that's an iffy one. Who knows, it might make it to the end of the season or it might fail. Batteries are funny like that.

I just checked and tightened down the pos. terminal 1/4 turn put it back on the tender and will see how it is in the morning. If I go that would be a good place to meet.

I tried Olympia All Season and Tinsulate, which I guess is some kind of a Chinese no name. Olympia offers better protection but my fingertips eventually get cold regardless of which gloves I have on.

I would like to give these gloves (Tourmaster Cortech) a try but $90 is a bit steep.

Just a heads up for HwyRider and id-man, Pats will be playing @ home on the 3rd. Kick off is at 4:25 but I am sure that traffic on 495, around RT1, is going to be a pain in the butt well before that time.

Thanks but in order to get these working I would also need to buy the power pack/controller. Then, without a heated jacket/liner to connect the gloves to I would also have to deal with the wires dangling all over the place. Battery operated gloves would be a good solution but those run for $200. I don't know why bike gear is so stupid expensive.
