Yeaouch! That looks expensive.
Insurance gave me $8,000, spent about $2,000 fixing it and it looks nearly as good as new.

I described it somewhere here. I was going very fast down a dirt road, was distracted by a photo op, and a tight corner came up on me faster than I was expecting. Locked rear after getting a bump off a protruding rock, low sided, then high sided landing on that side. Only moved about the length of the scratches when I landed from the highside. Pretty much landed with a plop.

If you see this, you're on the dirt road east of Deckers in Colorado.

You are also the type that sees things and says to yourself, "I wonder if I could...." :)

You were driving down this road passing some of these rocks when you were doing your wondering.

Hey those are some really awesome photos guys, except that one of the smashed bag (which was a bit depressing) but particularly the one of Monument Valley. Anthow....

If you see this, you're just below the clouds off Mt. Shasta in the rain.

If you see this, you've made it to the dam on Lake Shasta and the dang rain still hasn't cleared up.

Some went towards a better car, and I've held some out to do a Venture trunk like on Audioguru's Nomad.

If you see this, you're above 11,000 feet in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

If you can see this, you're looking at a guy who is probably a hell of an 80 year old by now.

If you see this...!

After the western rally, I'm heading North to Salt Lake City for a few days and am giving thought to coming back to Phoenix via Monument Valley just to say I rode through it. I've been there in a car, just want to try it on a bike.

If you see this, you're in downtown Sturgis during bike week.

Photographer must have been drinking...a little blurry, but hey, that's me and my Nomad in the pic!
