In Search Of Saddlebag

I am looking for a left side saddlebag for a 2005 Nomad 1600. Blue/Silver color if possible, but I could do with another color if I have to. Mine decided to jump off of my bike going down the interstate at 75 mph and get hit by 2-4 cars. Any suggestions on where to get one or if someone is looking to sell one, I'd be interested.

Thanks.

Thanks Gene. I just got finished looking at that and saving it to my watch list. If I can't find one in blue/silver, that may have to be the one. Guess it would give me a good reason to finally get the bike painted. :)

Thanks KSUFarmer. I wonder if there are any fitment issues between an '04 and a '05? I know the '05-'08 models will basically interchange, but I'm not sure about the 2004 models. I'll have to do some research on the differences. Thanks for the tip!

All side opening Nomad bags are identical (other than paint colors). You can even retrofit Vaquero bags. (The only differences are the lack of chrome strips on the doors (with the reflector in place of) and a very slight relocation of the metal hook on the back. The original Nomad mounting location is still visible.) If the door is salvagable and you need to repaint anyway, buy any Nomad/Vaquero bag.

Like Chris said, the 1500 & 1600 are the same bags (other than color).

I've got a Blue/Silver one off an '08 if you want it. Here's a picture of it:

It's got a few little scuffs on it but I think they'll polish out!

Sweet! Thanks for that offer Okotoks. I think the only thing salvageable is the lock from my bag. Everything else is pretty much destroyed. The salvage place that is linked above has a couple Nomads in my color that they are parting out. I'm going to give them a call on Tuesday when the open and see what kind of prices they'll give me.

So, AJ Cycle Salvage doesn't have any Nomad saddlebags left. Sucks. I've got a couple EBay sellers that I'm watching. Also, still trying to decide on the hard bag or the leather type bags.

I know the Nomad is known for it's hard bags and that completes the look of the bike, and I agree with it. But, the leather bags aren't too bad looking either, and, there is a write up on Gadget's page on using the leather bags on a Nomad. Doesn't look too bad. Plus, I can get a pair of leather bags for roughly half the cost of a used hard bag.

I'm trying to get input from the boss, but apparently work and meetings are more important than replacing some saddlebags.

Sam, if it makes you laugh, it's all worthwhile then!

You going to the national in Arkansas next year? Would love to meet you personally. Somehow, through your posts, I think we both have the same wacky sense of humor and certainly would have a laugh or two!
