Great Ride yesterday!

Took a great ride yesterday afternoon. Met a good friend at his house south of town and left at 1:00 p.m. My friend was on his new Suzuki M-109R and I was on my Nomad. We rode over to Joplin, MO. Then went South on Hwy 43 to South West City, MO., which is in the very SW corner of the state. We took State Hwy 90 East to Washburn, MO. This is a very nice road with lots of twisty curves and beautiful scenery. We then rode N to Cassville. We came back W on Hwy 76 until it ran into Co Hwy C, took it to Goodman, then N on 59 to Neosho, got on Hwy 86 and rode it back to Joplin, then came back home.

The weather was perfect! Temperatures were in the low 60s with partly cloudy skies and almost no wind. It was a little early for much fall color, but some trees were starting to turn and the sumac along the side of the roads was turning red.

We rode 243 miles and of course the Nomad handled the trip flawlessly. It was a great way to spend a Saturday.

MO Hwy 90 from South West City to Washburn is listed on several best motorcycle road websites. Anyone who is close would enjoy this ride.

Ride Safe,

Griz

Great Ride yesterday!

Glad you had a safe and enjoyable ride. Wish I could have ridden with you. I only got to ride about 50 miles or so yesterday. It has been overcast today and started raining this afternoon and still raining. More rain forecast for tomorrow. Unless I just have to I don't ride in the rain. Try to protect my bike as much as possible.

I agree hwy 90 is a good ride. Have you taken hwy 43 south out of Joplin to Siloam Springs? Its not much farther and is fun in some places, should look good in a couple of weeks with the trees changing. Maybe we can get together someday for a ride, I live just outside of Fayetteville and ride in MO sometimes. I have been to Pittsburg several times for one reason or another. Rode to KC a couple of weeks ago had lunch at Arthur Bryants, worth the 500mi round trip.

Jesse,

I have not taken 43 any farther South. If fact, I had never even gone through Seneca MO on 43 until Saturday. I will make a note of this and try to ride again in the near future. Hopefully we can get together for a ride in the soon.

You have good taste in Barbeque Arthur Bryant's is probably worth a 500 mi trip.

Great Ride yesterday!

I'd be willing to go back weather permitting.
Be sure to make plans for the South Central rally in 2010 these are always fun, and you will never meet a nicer group of people.
