So are you thinking the regular cruise or the dinner cruise? We're in for either.

I'd prefer the regular cruise. I'd rather observe the lake than having chow.

Also, we may need to pick a day and get tickets in advance. I've only been to Tahoe once and then it was just to drive around the lake. From what I remember, it can get pretty busy with tourist.

This could be a nice day ride out of Tahoe.

90 miles from LT to Calaveras Big Trees SP.

(Calaveras became a State Park in 1931 to preserve the North Grove of giant sequoias. This grove includes the "Discovery Tree", also known as the "Big Stump", the first Sierra redwood noted by Augustus T. Dowd in 1852. This area has been a major tourist attraction ever since, and is considered the longest continuously operated tourist facility in California.)

You can ride another 16 miles for lunch to the small town of Murphys and eat at the Murphys Historic Hotel.

(Notable guests who stayed at the Murphys Hotel during its early years include Mark Twain, Horatio Algiers Jr., John Jacob Astor, Thomas J. Lipton, J.P. Morgan, and former President Ulysses S. Grant.)
