Well, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a Dunlop SP 5000 195/60R-16. Should be delivered today. Hope to get it mounted tomorrow.

More later......

Kumho??? these any good on cars? I never heard of them and am not too sure how I would feel about riding on a cheap tire. 68 bucks is cheap too...

My question is all based on Can you Trust this brand of tire on a bike? I don't know...

Kumho has been around for a long time. They even make tractor trailer tires...... Hell, I've had Goodyears take a sh*t on me and they're expensive as hell..... I've got to call him today and talk to him about it. I'll let you know what I find out....

My daughter had a 97 escort that had kumho's on it and they wore pretty good as I recall. They sell them at tires plus up here.

I bought an Achiles tire for $53 + shipping for my bike. Never heard of it before; I think it is Korean or Chinese. When they mounted it and put it on the dynamic balancer, it needed no weights to balance. After 10,300 miles it shows almost no wear, and I've been extremely pleased with the traction and handling. I was replacing MC tires every 6,500 miles and riding on worn out tires too often. I think this has improved my safety and comfort considerably.

Well in error I prefer to be on the safest side of error there is.. So I was just saying to look out, and make sure since I haven't even heard of this brand..

There is no doubt that putting a Ct on a bike anyone who does will find some difference in handleling. You will get used to that. Then there is no doubt we will get many more miles on these tires than a puny 7,000 miles and at a lesser cost..

I found my rear brake had more stopping power and that my MPG's went down a little bit. This suggsts to me there is going to be more over all stress in the frame, and what that means to me is Service that drive shaft and the swing arm, because you won't untill you need the next CT.. I know i won't, and will miss more than one 7,000 mile service.. Use the best greases, and make damnned sure that U joint is a good one.

Hey MacMac, You AARREE right that is TIGHT wouldn't recommend that size to anyone, going ahead and running it! Feels great however, really enjoyed burning the mold release off the tire the first 50 miles or so. Wow! I scare myself sometimes. (sorry) [GOOSE]

It's covered in the Forum FAQS. Below is the link. It explains how to add a signature picture but you use the same method to insert a picture in the body of a post.

The picture I would like to see is at the drive shaft tube with something like credit cards facing backwards maybe, just something common that fit and stay put with a light drag..

maybe even regular cards, splayed out to you can see how many cards just stay in place with a very light drag. A playing card is apx 0.022" I think....

Take extra care to check tire psi often. I am not sure really, but maybe a lower psi could set up a tire rubbing to driveshaft tube, if it got too low.

Another of my concerns is small pebbels getting caught in the same place. ( I have no choice but to ride 1/2 of dirt to get out and again back in.)
