Glad to hear you may have gotten it, and you also got to learn a little more about your bike too, so all in all,.......... it's all good.

Timely thread, out for a ride Sunday and the dreaded red light comes on. Fortunately close to home. No coolant in over flow tank. Just filled it back up and now need to take it for a ride and see if it keeps loosing coolant or not. I am hoping this is just because its been sitting for the winter. I changed all the hoses and O rings (except one) two years back and have never had any issues before. The one I din't change was the one on the forward pipe between the cylinders because I would have needed to remove the intake system to get one small screw out. Keep us up to date on findings.

Haven't had a chance to ride this week, Sunday I did 300 km or so, the coolant is about 2mm lower than it was after I flushed it, for now I'm chalking that up to rooms in the rad and/or air in the system. Now I just need to keep an eye on it.

In your case if you recently changed the tubes, I'd probably go with a leak dye and UV light if you can't spot any leaks... also check your drain bolt on the bottom of the rad.

When I bought my used 2013 the plastic water tank would go down and I could smell antifreeze when the motor was hot. A very small amount of fluid would be on the garage floor in the morning. Pulled the gas tank off and the two water hoses that go down between the v heads had loose clamps. Tightened them no more problem. Took me a month to find the leak.

So what do you think solved your issue? Radiator cap? Drain plug? Or combo.

I changed the rad cap, tightened the drain bolt, tightened all clamps and flushed the system.

there's nothing wrong with your bike, just fill up the reservoir and ride it.
