AMT American Motorcycle Tire

I just purchased a Commander II front tire and they had the best price and free shipping. $118.00 and delivered the next day!

As for fuel mgt. I've had really good luck with the Dobek EJK. Not as pricey as the others, and no downloads nor the probs with the others i had read about.....

Changed the battery yesterday. It felt like it was getting weak even though voltage was fine. I didn't go expensive.. $55.90 shipped.

I noticed that the bike just seemed to start a little slower and the lights flickered at idle.. I was hoping it wasn't a stator issue. I've had the bike for over a year now and had no idea when the batter was last replaced. When I took it out, I found the previous owner had scratched July 2013 into the side.

The bike starts perfectly now. The starter turns like it's brand new. This was well worth the money.

It is easy to test a battery but I always replace it when I buy a used bike and don't know the age of the battery. They can let you down at the most inconvenient places and times.

Mine failed on my VStrom, along with the stator, so I bought one for it and the Nomad at the same time.

JD Hog, please let us know how you like the Commander II. I had new Bridgestone Exedra Max tires in the specified sizes installed last year. Had I to do it again I'd go a bit smaller on the front. That is a big honkin' wide tire and I didn't realize just how big it was until parked next to my friend's 1800 Gold Wing at our Salmon Arm gathering last summer. I would think that a smaller front tire would make it a bit better handling, that is, a bit more nimble.

Fortunately no broken bones & I'm almost recovered internally.. still some nagging neck issues. I ended up getting a Victory Vision for the main bike to ride 2up. I see a VN2000 in my future

Well at least you are able to talk about it and still ride. Glad you are doing ok.
The guy I bought my bike from got hit by car on his bicycle. Can no longer ride a motorcycle.

The vision is a very nice bike. I looked at them but went with the cross country tour.
How do you like Like it?

Love it. Extremely comfortable, especially for the wife.
It's surprisingly stable and agile. I was going to get a Voyager but I just can't fit on the new ones.. they seem smaller than my 1600 was.

I'll end up with a VN2000 as a second bike, then life will be great.
