Don't run it dry long. Too bad you probably don't have access to SafetyKlean. Is ot possible to waste a little keroscene? a pail full???

With a clean pump in a clean pail, with clean K-1 you can test all you like. Then use the K-1 as a parts cleaner after, or run oil lamps, or something.......

At start up time, you would turn on the key a couple times into that same pail to clear the pump and line from it, to just clear the remainder of the K-1.

K-1 won't harm a thing, but would make a real rough start and probably smoke up the shop if you didn't clear the pump and line.

Engine bogging down

So, since I have removed my DynoJet PCIII Commander fuel processor, I have had no problems with the bike. I have just re-installed the processor and have ran it for about 50Kms. Still no problems. The unit had an old version of software that was giving it problems. Now that it has the updated firmware, there has not been any issues. I do believe I can now close my issue and we can focus on Choppers issue. Thanks to everyone for their input and help in this matter.

Engine bogging down

Sorry for the dead silence from my end! The fuel pump is bad after all. I took it to a shop while I was down in Florida last week. They had a new one for me for just over $400.... no thanks! I will be attempting to find a suitable replacement pump for it. Next time I order one from E-bay, I will ask them for the measurements!

ok... after some digging... the part thats listed in another place on this forum is the wrong part HANDS DOWN! Autozone has another fuel pump that is damn close in shape and size... its part #E8455. It runs for around $125. I pulled my fuel pump apart with an engineer buddy of mine. It was pretty gunked up even after I ran some carb cleaner through it. we put it back together and I will give it a go. Lets see if it works. If not I will get the other pump from Autozone. Damn this is taking forever!

I just read this whole thread in hopes of learning something! So to Chopped, I am assuming the fuel pump fixed your problem?? My bike, 2004 nomad, last week started doing some funky thing. When slowing down or just slightly easing off the gas, it seemed like I was losing ignition...give it gas when it does that and it is fine. That is why I was looking at this thread to get some ideas. I do not have after market engine stuff on it. I did notice a couple weeks a go that on my front engine the right side spark plug had come loose, which I did tighten up!
