Are we ready?

With less than 2 months to go until the rally, I wonder how everyone is doing with their trip plans, maintenance, etc. Are we ready? The week of June 15 will come quickly.

Are we ready?

I'm ready, Ponch! Lately I've been doing local rides to get the ol' bum in shape. Will ride to Alabama and back from Apr 30 - May 5. Looking forward to Custer. BnG

Are we ready?

Looked over the list of "to-do's" and it is rather long; but plan on having everything organized by then.

My bike is going to need a variety of maintenence items done just before going due to the mileage it will likely have on it just before leaving -- but getting the necessary things done shouldn't be a problem.

Looking forward to the trip out west!

Are we ready?

I have a lot of little to-do's that really can't happen until it gets closer but one big one staring me down is getting my buddy's trailer ready to haul my Nomad rather than his vmax.

I haven't changed my oil since september, so even though the mileage doesn't add up, it's time. Thing is, I might put on a thousand or 1500 miles between now and the trip. I guess what's another 2000 miles after that. I also need to change the rear drive oil and the plugs. I still haven't done my spring Seafoam treatment. One thing I have noticed is that my gas mileage has sucked since the winter. I haven't done better than 34 mpg, where as I normally get 37-38. Anyway, I hope everyone is ready, including myself.

I hear ya on the mileage. I haven't done the seafoam yet either but it is due. How many miles you got on your plugs? I got 10,000, should and seems to be ok.

I have 12k+ on the bike and WTF? I am just going to do them to know they are done and to see what they look like. It's not a lot of money. Knowing the oil companies, they will be selling winter blend all year round.

Not yet. It is on my list of "to-do's".

Since I am not riding out to Custer I have been spending some time looking for a hauling trailer -- both enclosed and open-bed. Found a couple of both types -- trying to make a decision. Leaning toward an enclosed although it is more expensive -- but I believe I am getting a good deal on a new overstock one setup for a bike and is a lower profile.

Regarding plugs; I have changed mine last year although I only had 11,000 miles on the bike. I figured what the heck. I do maintenence overkill when it comes to oil; fluids and stuff like that.

I have them downloaded but haven't filled them out yet. Talked to Trip and they don't get turned in till ya get there anyway.
One thing I have been putting off is ordering my Regional Rally shirts from Patty. Not putting it off any longer.

Started getting myself ready too, rode my bicycle to work this morning. 5 miles one way. I do that a couple times a week. Should help.

Are we ready?

Bought rain-gear this past weekend. Didn't really have anything specific for that purpose. Just bought Frog-Toggs. They are light; breathable; compactable in a small bag; and not that expensive. Not much to look at "style-wise"; but then again, who is looking for style when you're getting soaked.

Anyway; I remember Trip suggesting everyone have some sort of rain-gear as evidently it rains a lot out there. Any input on that OP?
