So, isn't connecting your Iphone or Android to your bike stereo basically using a cable to connect the phone to the input jack on the stereo. Like in my case I'm installing a stereo into the fairing I'm mounting on my 1600 Classic. If I have a cradle for my smart phone then all i should need is a USB-C cable to the input jack on the stereo right?

If the stereo is Bluetooth capable then its just a matter of pairing. But otherwise its just a matter of the right cable, right?

That is exactly what I did installing a stereo in an after market fairing on my 1500 Vulcan.

The fairing I'm mounting on my 1600 Classic has the gauge set from a Vaquero installed and wired to the 1600 (tach is a real challenge to make it work). So when I take the gauge out of the pod on top of the fuel tank I'll replace it with a gas filler door setup from a Ford Fusion. Inside of that I'll have a mount for a smart phone with a cable to the stereo.

Then my bike will be smart phone capable and it'll play Pandora or my music through the stereo and charge the phone as well.
