Nearly missed it.

I wanted to get a photo of all the 4's on my speedo,( only going to happen once ) but i forgot about it.I was overtaking a line of car's at 80mph when i looked down, shit ! A rapid pull in amongst them, with a locked up back wheel, got me this.

Nice Mick. I guess you got the misfire problem corrected since you stated that you overtook the line of cars at 80mph.

Yes i did mate,it was a bad connection between the HT lead and cap on the front right hand plug.I cut a bit off the lead, splayed the copper wire out with a braddle, screwed the bastard back on,and that cured it.

It would still pull the 80mph,and some, with the problem.

A rapid pull in among a line of cars and a locked up back wheel seems a bit dangerous just to get a pic of your odometer Mr daredevil

It was a pivotal moment in the life of my bike, and i was'nt going to miss it.It was a bit of a hairy moment though, and i did have to take a toke on a roll-up before i set off again.

All under control mate. If i could have done it any other way,i probably would have. But speedo's are a bit like time, they dont give you but one chance. And a bit of danger ( like loud pipe's ) is good for the soul.

Mick if I was as young as you I'd be out on the road. I in sight of 70 and can't figure out how that happened. I've tried not to slow down too much though. I did a ride to the Arctic Circle via the Dempster "Highway" (actually a cruddy gravel/mud/pot holed haul road) in the northern Yukon Territory last June and made it back alive.

Fair play to you mate.Age is like a snowball, you start off with a fist sized lump, roll it through the snow for a yard or so and it's football size, roll it another yard and it's as big as your car.Acceleration is an alarming thing when related to age.
