Vin location

I have a 2007 Nomad 1600 and have to get a tag and the dmv wants to see the vin number. It was on the steering neck on my Classic. Where is it on this one?

On my 2005 I believe it was on the underside of the frame rail on the left side, near the floorboard.

That's an odd place to put it,that part of the frame is a bolt on,and could easily be taken off and put on another bike to change it's ID The headstock is the most common place to find it.
