? for those with wired heated gear

Cindy and I just bought Gerbing heated jacket liners and glove liners.
Was wondering where you guys mounted the plug end that comes from the battery. If I mount it by the front of the seat where I think it would be handiest there is a lot of cable to coil up, would this hurt anything?
Also, do you mount the heat controler somewhere or just carry it in your pocket.

I have my wire coiled under the side cover with the end near the seat and haven't had any problems. I have a thigh strap that is made for controllers and it is very convenient.

That leg band is a great idea Mike.
Never gave it a thought, Thanks.

Edie uses the Jacket liner and pants, I just use FreezeOut pants and shirt, no heat. I have the plugin routed so the plug part comes out between the front and back seats, and she keeps the controller in the jacket pocket.

I just have their gloves, and my plug just comes out from under the front of the front seat in the middle, and my controller (on/off switch) plugs into that. After weather warms up, I remove the seat and tuck the plug down beside the battery. The whole thing is maybe 6~8" long, just long enough to come out from under the seat when in use.

Seems like that would be awkward for her to have to reach around behind her to plug/unplug the cable.
Upon rereading your post ( insert embarrassed emoticon here) Edie probably is your passenger, I assumed she had her own bike.

Cliff, all the cables that came with our gloves and liners are 3 feet long.

I have 2 plugs, one for the jacket and gloves and one for the pants and insoles. I just push them under the edge of the seat. It holds them there just fine. When I need them, they are long enough to connect to the gear. I also use one for the trickle charger. My controls are wireless. I need to figure out where to put them, but I think I'll put some Velcro on the dash, just inside the shield and stick them there.

I coiled the wires up near the battery and ran it out under the seat on the left side closer to the front. Zip tie that to the frame section that is there. Then I just tuck the end towards the rear when not in use. The controller is mounted to the front tip of the seat. Just run a strip of velcro around it and clip it to that.

Tim, Marie and I have TourMaster synergy 2 vests and pants. Each of us has our out 2 zone TourMaster remote to adjust both tops and bottoms. The control has a large clip on the back and we just hook in tour our leather jacket pockets like a fountain pen. Since my battery is in the lower front of the Vic I installed a 7 foot battery hook up directly from the battery up the backbone under the tank with a splitter for her's and my gear. The Red power end with caps exits just below the seat within easy reach and plug.

Warm and Safe Heated Gear (warmnsafe.com). The controllers are branded as Heat-Troller, but they sell heated garments, too. Works really well. Occasionally need to replace the batteries in the remote (one or two AA batteries, I think). The unit attached to the garment is powered from the bike. If it does not receive a signal from the remote, it runs at 50% so you won't freeze if the remote dies. You might roast, but you won't freeze!

They will work with any 12V garments, if you can find a place to put the attached unit.
