HD oil pressure sender

Time to change oil again, and was going to hook my HD oil pressure gauge to a sender, but don't know what'll work and what won't. Will a standard HD oil pressure sending unit directly fit an '03 Nomad? Are there car ones that are better? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

.....According to Gadget, Kawasaki uses NPT thread at the oil presssure switch location so as long as Harley uses the same thread, you would be good to go on that install. :)

ok, call me stupid, but what's NPT thread? Is it the particular thread designation?

National Pipe threadif I remember right.. Basicly American thread not metric...

NPT stands for National Pipe Thread. It differs from standard threads like bolts, etc., because the threads are tapered. The taper provides for a tighter seal, which is why NPT threaded fittings are used for plumbing liquid, steam and gas lines.

ok, so what about thread diameter? Are all of these oil pressure senders use the same diameter and size threads?

...NPT sizes are 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 and bigger. But the physical diameter of say, 1/8 NPT is probably closer to an actual diameter of about 3/8 of an inch. They are not like regular bolt sizes. I'm not sure what size the oil pressure switch hole is but would guess its probably 1/8 or 1/4 NPT. Most electrical oil pressure gauge kits come with a 1/8 NPT sending unit and if this does not fit the hole, a bushing can be used to upsize to the size that will fit. :)
