First ride on new bike

This morning Toophun and I took a ride up to Globe, AZ. We stopped along the way for breakfast at Buckboard City in Superior. After breakfast, we continued E on US-60 to Globe and a stop for gas.

After filling up, we proceeeded through Globe and took AZ-77 over El Capitan pass to Winkleman. At Winkleman, we turned onto AZ-77 which took us back to Superior and then back to the valley. Total miles was around 200.

This was my first ride of any real distance on the Harley, so I am still breaking it in.

Here's some pictures we took atop El Capitan Pass:

Toophun took this picture of ME SITTING ATOP MY NEW BIKE.

Here's our bikes together

Here's Toophun taking a picture of the view from 4983' above sea level.

The temperature was around 60 degrees at the pass. It was close to 90 when we hit Winkleman.

Edit: When I filled up in Globe, at 133.4 miles I calculated 38.8 MPG.

The color looks almost the same as the special order bikes that they make for the Jesters. It seemed to be a great day for a ride.
Hope you enjoy many more.

I think it handles better, especially in curves. Seems more responsive. Parking lot (low speed) handling is a big improvement.

Scott I read somewhere about the way to break in the Harley motor it said get on a road you can do this 10 times in a row
1 run up to about 60 in 3rd gear then let off let it compression down to 30 and repeat 10 times suppose to set the rings. It was on a HD site I was looking for antenna for fairings and found it

;) You'll also find out that it doesn't wallow in high speed sweeper's like the Nomad. But for ERG-O's nothing beats the Nomad. That Bad Boy won't start to wake up until you get about 7 or 8 thousand mi. on it. After a ride in the Mountains I expect you had a large grin while Cruzin along.

Scott's new bike is SWEEEET! It is really beautiful and you should have seen the crowd gathered around it at breakfast. I followed right behind him going through the twisties and it handled great. Congratulations pal, couldn't be happier for you!
