Out for a ride yesterday afternoon, when started having motor issues. Backfired going down my street when changing gears. Then while riding the motor acted as if it was starved of gas, at one point it stalled out while riding. Waited a couple minutes, it started and kept running while I put my gear on. And it was fine the rest of the way home, ride over. Might be either water in my gas, or the need to change the Gasline Filter. As the bike shops were closed, and it's a long weekend, not much I can do until Tuesday. I did put a gas additive in the tank, and ran it through the system. If there is water in the system that should fix it. I'll take it for a short run later, see if that was a fix. If not, try to get it in the shop this coming week. Wouldn't hurt to have the bike checked over before the trip. Just hope it's an easy fix.

Hope you get it sorted out Pete. I have had water in the gas 2 separate times in the Nomad and both times it followed the same pattern. Start and run fine for about 75 miles then out of nowhere it would quit like someone turned off the key, no backfire, chugging etc, just quit but would restart immediately and be ok for a bit. Gassing up usually brought the stall on immediately after. It didn’t act the way a carbed engine would. I figure the water settled to the bottom of the tank below the fuel pick up, but once mixed up enough, every once in a while the injectors would get a gulp of pure water and the motor would just quit. Sea foam or other additives to combat moisture didn’t help much. The quickest way to fix it both times was to take the tank off and dump the gas.

Changing the fuel filter and emptying the gas tank tomorrow for fresh fuel.
New fuel pump is ordered, might arrive by the end of the week or first of next. Hope this solves my problem, or its cancelation time. One thing, I can't believe this is happening this close to the trip. But then, better now than on the road. A prayer from you guys and gals might help.

Yep, she carbed. The trouble with the off season, issues are not noticed until after you get it out for another season. Could have taken my time fixing it in the off season. This was the first time I didn't work on something while it was stored.

I'll give her a good wash and shine once the bike issues are taken care of.
