Cheap, Easy Bling...

There are a ton of newbies running around in here these days, so I thought I would toss this bone out there again for anyone interested.

To add some very easy chrome accents to your Nomad, pick up a couple rolls (usually around 10') of chrome strip at just about any auto parts dealer. The first roll is a 3/8" door trim molding (U-shaped). This you run around the edge of your fender.

Start at the little dimple in the fender behind the fork and run one piece around the front to the other fork. Then do the same around the lower part of the fender. The lower part is the tougher of the two...but not too bad. Use some garden snips to cut the stuff to a precise fit. Took me about 15 minutes including a 5 minute chat on my cell phone... !

The second (and I just did this) would be a roll of 1/2" (D-Shaped) body molding. Toss your saddlebags on a bench and run this around the outer edge of your doors. It's an easy mod that adds an extra bit of bling without hardly any hurt to your wallet!

For those of you wondering (schoeney, rickyboy)....haha....this does not count against my "No New Winter Mods" declaration as I had already purchased this stuff awhile ago.

One note of caution...you need to have a warm climate (70 degrees or so) to do the saddlebag mod so the glue/tape will stick solid. I did it in the kitchen with the help of a hair dryer to get everything warm and sticky!

It's kind of hard to see in the photos....but it shows up great on the bike!

I got both rolls at Schuck's Auto Parts for just over $20 I think....

PS...The 3/8" door trim is the same exact molding I used around the lower lid of my trunk!

...you are right Greg! I don't recall any mention of him buying this trim earlier. Any Canadian flavour will do...
