Thank you to the organizers
I'd like to take a moment to thank Kris and Joel and their wives (who I am sure had a hand in helping) for planning a great rally! The motel in Crescent City was like going back in time. The Curly Redwood Lodge was clean and the owners have preserved it very well. Also, thanks to the vendors who provided the great prizes for the raffle.
Also, a special thanks to Teri Conrad of Kawasaki for attending. It was great to catch up with old friends from past rallies and meet some new (and interesting) members. Unfortunately, there were two motorcycles that were probably lost due to unintended circumstances, but injuries were relatively minor and I wish Badger, Sin City Stan and his wife Rita all speedy recoveries. Finally, thanks to all who attended! If you are not yet home, I wish you a safe and uneventful ride. Two more days until I get back home. I better get on the road.

Noel and Stan went down? Hope they are okay. This has not been a good season for accidents. Hopefully someone can provide the details.
Sounds like everyone had a great-time at the rally. Thanks for the pics being posted. We've enjoyed them.

Sadly, Stan and his wife went down on Hwy 36 on Tuesday en route to the rally. I rode that same highway the day before they did. 150 miles of twisties, lots of up and down grades. Imagine 150 miles of the tail of the dragon. It is an exhausting ride and someone could easily find themselves in trouble. I wouldn't want to ride it again.
Noel crashed on Thursday when he took a turn too fast and ended up in the gravel shoulder. As I stated, all 3 people walked away with relatively minor injuries, although Stan was the worst. I'll let them fill you in on the details if they wish to.

Unfortunately both Nomads I hear were totaled. Joel and Kris and Teri were terrific in their organization of the event. You'd think they were Pros at doing this! Lots and lots of door prizes! Kris raised a lot of money for the local little league. Thanks everyone!!!

Noel left me a message this morning. He made it home ok.
As far as planning the rally, it wouldn't be worth it if no one showed up.

Joel, your obnoxious hammering of my fine attire was even tolerable!!! After Jared read Trip's message about my ironed shirts she looked at me and said, "Is everyone in on this?" I told her I damn hope so!!! then I told her, I don't always drink Dos Equis......She just laughed!
To all the gents and especially the ladies this was Marie's first big ride in her life and she couldn't quit talking about what a bunch of fantastic people she met! You all really made her feel welcome and she's looking forward to next year! Thanks for the hospitality. It meant a lot to her!
