Waving Pulled the trigger on a BAK... finally

So today I finally pulled the trigger on a Chuckster Customs BAK. It has been through tons of research and weeding through all the threads about people whining because they can hear the engine now, that I finally decided to get my BAK. These bikes seriously need to breathe. I wish Kaw would have learned from previous models like the 1500 and 1600s that the cross over air tube is about as dumb as a box of rocks. Joe was a great guy to deal with and responded to PMs even on Sunday. He is shipping out the intake today. Hopefully should only take about 4 days coming from Michigan unless he sends it 2 day priority, I did not ask. This intake coupled with my V&H slip ons and EJK fuel processor should wake the sleeping giant. Can't wait. Thanks to all the members that provided honest feedback about these air kits. I will post some results when installed.

I am looking forward to it. I am going to run it on Ray's dyno to see how she is running. Did you need a special torx bit to get a screw off the wire cover?

I've got a 2013 Vaq. and didn't need any torx bits, on mine it was all allan wrenches and basic socket set. But I did have a 'Bud' helping me, he's much "wiser", twist off no wrench required. .

Chucksters kit is reversible in about 45 minutes if there is a warranty issue.
Not sure if that is even necessary for a warranty claim.

Nope. I believe it is called the Magnusen Act. They cannot void your warranty for installing an aftermarket part. As long as you are not altering the engineering of the bike. Like adding a cam, different pistons new ECU. They would hae to prove that the air intake caused whatever issue arose after the install. This applies to cars too.

Did you buy the kit that uses the stock air intake cover or the kit that exposes the K&N filter ?

I'm also interested. Would like to know about how much noise it makes, mpg improvement, torque, engine temp. Cost is reasonable but if the changes aren't that noticeable... I'm sure they are or they wouldn't be used. Word of mouth is one of the best advertising tools and really haven't heard any negatives.
