Fork Bags? I'm sure some do and if you do post a pic. Besides being functional (toting something, stylish and maybe stop a little more wind under the headlight), I believe the next best thing to adding chrome is adding leather. Some call 'em tool bags, but I'm sure you can pack more than that in 'em. Thanks. Jamie

I don't yet but want to add a tool bag up front. I carry everything to basically rebuild the motor with me. Plus I like the looks

I did but it ended up being a bit too big. Braking caused it to touch the fender. That can skuff paint, so i took it back off. I don't know how large a roll you can have there and not have it it hit.

I don't have one but I can see that they would be handy to have. I think Wal-Mart carries some. Might not be the best around but probably cheaper than other places.

jamie, its funny I just bought one to stop that airflow under the headlight. i went to wally world and back in there atv section they have a tool bag for $25. Its black, yeah, its leather, yeah and it installs in 5 minutes. I hung it off the light bar and it does stop the airflow that causes head buffting. Im nearly stopped all the head buffeting with airlite chaps, larger lowers and forkbag.

I have one on my bike. It does stop the airflow but I use it for storing tools.
Here is the only pic I have of it.

There is not enough travel between the fork bag and the fender to stop the bag from hitting the fender and it will mark your fender. We went to an auto detailing store and bought that clear plastic that is used on the front of cars to stop rock chips and put a piece on the top of the fender right where the bag hits. The piece of plastic is hard to see, unless you know it's there, and it saves the fender. And yes, a fork bag cuts the wind coming around the headlight bucket to stop a lot of the buffeting.

Hubby doesn't have one, but I took a picture of a Nomad with one from a group ride. I don't think he understood the idea of blocking the air under the headlight, though!!! ;)

You know if you want to stop the air from the headlight all you have to do is since the bottom of the windshield is a two piece loosen i think 6 bolts around the smaller piece and slide it down to the headlight works great! Atleast on the 1600's dunno about 1500's but if its a 2 piece windshield it should. :)

If you add one and in braking it hits the fender, you can say good by to the paint if you don't figure out something else.

I did it and didn't notice right away, but did and buffed that marring out in time, not that it matters a bit anymore after wrecking the fender I have still have now..

In braking these bikes dive pretty good, so I can't say how big the roll can be and still not hit the fender..

The leather lyke bags are harder on paint that real leather is, but real leather does not like any oils tools might get on them.
Look hard at the leather to make sure it is. I have seen leather lyke which at first glance seem real.

Both have a place, but you still should want to know.
