Saw a new video last night from FB. Showing the 113 (CI) badge. The Raider/Strat engine<?>. Looked very nice. A big beast with lots of LEDS up front. They showed zero amenities, but did do a nice fly around.

Ride safe,
Smokier

Air cooled engine with all that plastic means one hot ride! At least Harley went twin cooled on the Road Glide Ultra.

They should have gone with the V4. I predict they won't sell many at MSRP just like the Voyager.

I was surprised. I thought this was going to be a 4 or 6 cylinder and target the BMW K1600gt.
Too heavy and too expensive for me. Maybe if I was only going to have one toy.
Air-cooled seems to be a mistake.
Nice looking though. Would make a beautiful trike. Will most likely be available as a bagger at some point and be a bit lighter.

It is already available as a bagger. This is the same engine as the Stratoliner...but the Stratoliner only has a 5-speed.

960ish pounds sounded like a lot to me too.

Then I remembered my bike is just a few cheeseburgers away from that now.

The stratoliner needs a bigger fuel tank.

I'm pretty sure they discontinued the Stratoliner in 2014.

I agree with all points. Shrink it down, make it liquid cooled, less expensive and they'd have a bike that would sell. If I hit the lottery, I can buy one and have it triked. Of course, I can do that with my Voyager. But the new Yamaha has the reverse and a few other cool features.

I don't know why everybody thinks $24k is high. Most of the high end touring bikes (Honda, Harley, CanAm, Indian, BMW, etc) top out at more than that. Victorys top touring bikes (Vision & Cross Country Tour) were at least that price, too.

Air cooling isn't the end of the world, either. I'm sure Yamaha did a little bit of testing before releasing an air cooled bike. It's not like they had a 5th grader design it and threw it out in the market.

Too heavy? Most of the big tourers weigh in at pretty close to a grand.

Some big bikes have 1 advantage over others but some disadvantages, too. The BMW K1600 is pretty lightweight for what it is but it's stupidly expensive and you can't stretch out. The Gold Wing has all the bells and whistles but you don't get ABS until you've spent $30k. The Indian is cramped and it's expensive.

You'll never get a cheap, well made, light, fast, comfortable touring bike. Pick one or 2 and be happy.

There is a lot of stuff on the expensive bikes that I can do without but then these bikes are meant for coast to coast all day riding and not for a half an hour jaunt to the shops. I make do with a lighter and less expensive bike these days but still get all the enjoyment I did when I had the Voyager. In some ways more enjoyment.

Canadian Pricing from web

K1600GTL $32000
Star Venture TC $32000

Of course the BMW price rises very quickly with options added. I didn't compare options and maybe this comparison is a little apples to oranges.

I cannot find on the web that a bagger is available (Can or US)
