Anyone else think it will be an EFI V4 called The Journey?
With updated lighting and electronics and belt drive.

Probably using up some leftover Royal Star Venture parts too.

Yamaha builds some good quality bikes.

I've had 2 Royal Star Ventures which I loved and also had a Stratoliner. The V4's would really rip if you let them rev. The strat had stump pulling torque. I think if they are looking to sell a goldwing killer, they should be coming with that 1700 V4.

Maybe. There was the Venture Royale and the Royal Star Venture. Both were Yamahas luxury touring bikes but basically had nothing in common.

Regardless of what Wiki has to say, it was the later Royal Star Venture that used the VMax motor but it's not worth arguing about.

Ivan is heavy into Yamaha's.................. I think that's what he rides, or used too.

Yup... and let's all hope it's a long time he has one. It's why we get to enjoy a minor tweak to the mapping from time to time

Greetings,
My bet is another V4. Like to see it in the 1700cc arena. The Venture was a top heavy beast at slow speeds, but all-day comfortable at speed. 86K miles I think was on mine when she was returned to the showroom from wentz she came.

I won't speculate but I hope it's not too heavy. I've heard about the reverse which sounds nice. We will see. I've owned a couple of V Stars, last one a 1300T.

Cool looking bike with lots of great features. $32000 Canadian plus taxes which puts it in Goldwing and HD price category.

Looking forward to reading reviews.

The '85 Vmax had a hotted-up Venture 1200 engine, the block & crank were totally identical...... you can bolt the Vmax heads and carbs directly onto the Venture block.....or, if you choose, you can bolt the entire Vmax engine into the '83 Venture, and vice-versa. some guys get the '86 -up 1300 engine & toss the V-max stuff on it.... heard of one or two guys putting Vmax cams in their Royal Stars, but with the larger finning, dunno how many large parts will swap. either way, the Royal Star came out in '96, the newer RS Venture didn't come out till '99.

1st time around the Vmax was based on the Venture, looks like they flipped the script for this one. I will guesstimate it might be a tad larger than the V-Max's 1700 ccs, with more low-end torque of course.

WOW.... not exactly a water-cooled V4 either!!! guess they shot the rear pipe out the left side to help even out the heat dissipation to the rider??

It's a 113 cubic inch 1854cc's air cooled V twin per Yamaha's web site.
