Total mileage for year

I'm not planning any more rides for this year, so , my total mileage for the year is 21079.
Next year has some possibilities to do better.

Boy Gene I wish I had that kind of time to ride. But I did get in 6000+ this year, which is a lot more than my average of 2200. Plus I got to meet You and a lot of other VBA members.

Happy for you, I'm at 2900 so far. A friend has over 17,000 and he is still rolling.

Some of us still work more than half of the year. :) Totally jealous! Wish I had time to ride that much.

I need to retire so I can get those kinda miles in. Nice job! That is a lot of 2-wheeled therapy!

I'm still trying to make it to 9000 miles this year. Only have maybe three more weeks before the bike will get put up for the winter. Crazy cagers don't think there should be any bikes still out and they don't even look for them now that it's getting cold out. Almost got taken to the pavement last week when a truck decided it wanted my lane and was pushing on my left shoulder.

I thought I would be getting in lots of miles this year and for the rest of my riding years after retiring in June. Only have about 4000 miles so far this year due to more than 2 months of almost no riding due to issues with a renal stint. Now my shoulder is giving me fits. I'm pretty sure I have a torn rotor cuff. Time to end the home treatment and go to a doctor. Whether I have surgery or not, I won't be riding much the rest of this year, sigh.

I was hoping to get at least 10K miles this year and at least 20K+ next year. Next year's goal is still on the table. A coast to coast Iron Butt would certainly help reach that goal!

is it really necessary to have a goal?...does it take away from the enjoyment of just riding?...does it matter if one guy rides to work every day of the week and runs errands on the weekends for 4000 miles a year or another goes on long rides seemingly just to rack up miles to brag about?...or is all that matters just someone enjoying the bike and whatever riding they do?...
