Looking for a good route through Pennsylvania

I'll be going to West Virginia soon and i have to go through Penn. I'll be entering on the East end on route 84 from NY. So the plan is to make it to State College before stopping, all highway. Then taking rout 26 down to Maryland. I'm not sure if 26 is worth taking i only found 1 person recommending it in a book i have. Any other route suggestions? Any body know anything about route 26? We'll be spending a week in Pocahontas County, West Virginia if anyone has something to add for their also. Thanks

Stand by - I have a nice route from 84 . . . better yet . . . get off 84 in CT . . . try to hit 44 run that to the Taconic Pkwy or to 7 (Around Cornwall/Kent) to some other nice roads and cross into in Dutchess County, NY to the Taconic . . . I will give you that - just need to get home to my computer with the routes on it . . .
