Rally Recap #VulcanRally2015

The 2015 National Rally is in the books.

For 2015, the Vulcan Bagger Association an the Vulcan Riders Association held their national rallies together to create what ended up being a mega-rally of Vulcan riders! The rally was titled "Thunder in the Ozarks" and between the associations 228 riders converged on Eureka Springs, Arkansas for a week of fun.

As you can see in the group picture above, ROK and Kawasaki came through in a big way by bringing a demo trailer and a variety of bikes for everyone to test. For the first two days of the rally, many took turns taking turns on some pretty sweet bikes. I personally rode the Concours 1400 and Ninja 1000 for a little variety from my Vaquero. It was a blast to take rides through Ozark mountain highways on some of Kawasaki's flagship sport style machines. Others took advantage of the opportunity to ride the Vulcan-S, Versys 1000, Ninja 300, Voyager, and Vaquero, all part of Kawasaki's leading line up of motorcycles.
Thank You, ROK and Kawasaki!!!

During the 12 month process of rally planning between VBA and VRA, a local charity to Eureka Springs was selected to be the benefactor of the final-dinner raffle, and other activities like daily 50-50 drawing, and Bug-Splat competitions. Flint Street Fellowship, a food bank, was recommended and selected in part because of a program they do called Back Our Kids to feed school kids on weekends when they may not be getting nutritious meals at home. In addition to collecting monies, kids backpacks and food were brought in by the saddlebag loads to support the cause.
In all, the Rallied force of VBA and VRA was able to present a check to Flint Street Fellowship in the sum of $3200, and we filled a Ford Ranger pick-up bed to the brim with food and back packs to stock their shelves.

Members and businesses both donated some pretty awesome prizes for the Raffle held at the final dinner; they kept everyone on the edge of their seat when numbers were being read. There was a Mustang tour seat, some of the famous "Don Myer" handlebars, Idaho jack adapter, certificates to Chuckster's Customs, LED tail lights, helmets, accessories, shirts, swag, sunglasses, and gear from Kawasaki (more thanks to ROK and Kawasaki!!). There was even a motorcycle themed quilt made by a VRA member!

Our very own Jared Gant took home a trophy from a bike show as part of a Wednesday BBQ in the parking lot. Congratulations, Jared!

If you haven't taken the opportunity to join us for a rally, you're really missing out. I've met some great people and had great fun riding with you all; I hope to meet more of you along the way and at future rallies!

Here are a few more pics to wet your whistle, and stay tuned for our next rally plans!

Well the real key to determining if this was a real success...did you find out when MaKaw is going to add cruise control to the Concourse??
