Hello all, just wanted to offer another opinion on replacement tires. I had problems finding matching tires for my 05 1600 Nomad (as many others have). I replaced my worn out Bridgestone's with Metzler Me 880's front 150/80-16 and rear 180/70-16. The fit was fine. It's only been a few days but so far they're doing great.

I've had ME 880's on for a while and I think there good. Some members here have had bad luck with them, crossing my fingers and hoping they last for a while yet.

I think mine are the same size only they are Dunlop Elite 3s. I have over 6,000 miles on the rear tire and can't detect any wear at all. Almost 5,000 on the front tire with the same results. Plus mine are made in the USA.

I had bad luck with my 880's, they made the bike wobble worse than it normally did. I switched to Dunlop D404's and I liked them a lot more. I chose them because they are one of the few choices available in whitewalls. And These Dunlops said made in Japan on them.

Steve, would you have bought the Dunlops if everyone had ww's?

Avon Cobras front and rear.
I had E-3's and they were noisy as hell in the turns and as they wore they got a little noisy on the straight away as well. Gene has then and says his have never been a problem with noise. Maybe I just got a bad set.
I also tried Metz 880 and they cupped terrible after only a few thousand miles. Only got 10,000 miles out of the rear tire also.
I have a Pirelli MT-66 on my wife's 900 LT and it is a great tire. Rides well , holds good in the rain and has more tread when new than any motorcycle tire I have seen.
If they mad the size for my Nomad I would be running them now.

Hi Swens, You'll get lots of opinions about tires around here, but all I can tell ya is after running those OEM Bridgestones just about anything you go with is gonna feel like a slice of heaven.

Yes I have it's wearing good and I like the way it rides and handles, when it wears out another one is going on.

Put Avon Cobra's on F and R last fall. They have 7000 miles on them now and both are looking good.

I think so, I didn't like the Metzelers, and thats about your only choices. If Avon had WW I would have given them a try.
But the Dunlops have performed pretty good overall and they are one of the better priced tires as well.
