Check out the ride/trips section. We had a pretty good turnout!

Back still I'm rough shape but did 12 mile ride to get my annual inspection sticker. 1 mile from home hit INTENSE rain. Disappointing I cannot ride 10 miles without back pain but at least I was out!

I managed to round up 9 bikes on short notice and we hit the road this morning at 10am. Went to Hocking Hills in Logan Ohio and rode the twisties. 230 miles total. Stopped for lunch and dinner before we came home. The day was perfect in every way.

I rode just under 1,000 miles since Friday - in Alaska - Rented a nice Triumph 800 Tiger in Anchorage Friday afternoon and rode to Valdez . . . Great ride . . . Saturday rode the Richardson up to Paxson and crossed over the Denali Highway and back down to Anchorage. Today took a little jaunt donw the Seward Highway for a lunch in Girdwood before turning the bike back in . . . Saw a lot of wildlife along the way - I think my totals were 6 Moose, 9 Caribou, 4 Bear, 1 Lynx . . . Awesome!!!

Napom, Your Alaska trip sounds like an ideal ride. I'd love to do a ride like that someday.

Three friends and I took a ride through Death Valley yesterday. We stopped for breakfast and headed out around 7am. The weather was nice and cool at the beginning but I knew it would be around !00 degrees in Death Valley. I wanted to do this trip a month ago but logistics prevented it 'til now. We took the 160 out of Pahrump (elephant fart for you locals) caught the 178 to the 127 to Furnace Creek. There we stopped for lunch and took a look around. We thought about passing through the Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge but that would have shortened our ride. Instead we maintained our leisurely pace north on 374 through Daylight Pass to 95 south and back to Vegas. 290 miles in about 7 hours. It was a great ride! If you've never been, Death Valley is a beautiful ride! A vast pallet of amazing color and texture! With numerous hydration stops from cooler strapped to the back of my bike, we had little problem with the heat.

I met up with Schoeney (Greg) Saturday morning in a little cowtown in eastern Oregon called Heppner. On my 45 mile ride into Heppner on 74 off of 395...I passed 2 cars and 12,877 head of cattle. Amazing ride that only got better when we rode south on 207 through the Umatilla National Forest, then along the John Day river where we found a cool old stage coach stop (Service Creek Stage Stop) for a break and nice chat with several other bikers. Ended up in Bend, OR for the night before blasting back home yesterday to beat some weather.

Just goes to show how totally awesome the low speed handling is on the XCT. You can ride slow enough to count every head.
