I'm not going to vote the pole since I don't care about the "Where". . . "Who" is more important to me.
If some of the folks are concerned about $$$ it should be anywhere other than Taos. That's the most expensive place to do anything in NM.

If we go to Taos we could stay here http://www.elmontesagrado.com/ I was one of the plumbers that helped build it. It's nice, but I'm not sure how many members could afford their room. The "Cheap Seats" start at around $170.00 per night.

Red River is just a few miles out of Taos and much cheaper.

Hey, I don't want to buzz kill your Taos plans. I shouldn't matter Jim. I just picked Lake Tahoe in the beginning STRICKLY because of the geographic location that would allow the "most" potential riders.

If given a choice to ride 900 miles of desert in June to go to Taos, which I've skied there, and overpriced as hell. or ride 550 miles and 150 miles of that is through moderate desert to an altitude of 6000 feet of the Sierra Nevada mountains with 1000's of lakes and roads to ride? Cattle pastures, snow topped mountain peaks.

It's a no-brainer for me. Yes Scott, I have little brains to waste!
