crazy passenger seat to trunk distance

I have built my own steel rack to mount one of the inexpensive trunks from ebay, but my question is , what is the distance from the back of the back seat to the front of the trunk that you all have been installing. I've tried to have a helper sit there but haven't found where it will be the most comfortable to the passenger, I don't want them sitting to straight up or leaning to far back. if anyone can take a quick measurement I would appreciate it. Thanks

I have a 1600 with a HD Ultra trunk, and my trunk backrest is about 1/2 back from the back of the rear seat. I put blocks under my frame to hold the bike level, had my wife sit on her seat in riding position to determine where to mount it.
Hope this was some help to you.

Thanks, it's 12 ga. Mild steel, same as wompus, but not as wide since I had the factor rack and brackets, I thought it would be the way to go. I have a friend that has the brake to bend it to size, then it's a matter trimming to fit. That took a little while but it is the first one. Once I'm finnish the second will be a lot quicker. Now I just need to determine the distance for the trunk. By the way it's a factory rear seat.
