Engine rebuild photos

I saw this on another Vulcan website and thought it might be of use to someone on here. Lots of good photos of a Vulcan engine rebuild.

That was a long but very interesting post. Those motors have a lot of parts to them the way the heads are designed. Im sure the cost of the rebuild was a lot of money by the time he bought all the parts required.

Looking at photos like that makes me happy my bike is running great. I have rebuilt quite a few car and bike engines but kneeling, bending, heavy lifting is hard work for me now. With the engine out of the bike and on the bench I am okay.

Nice walkthrough. I think if I ever had to or decide to rebuild my 1500, I will definately install a big bore kit since it is apart. Just saying....

Now, I do have the luxury of a second bike which greatly influences decisions regarding downtime.

That isn't close to a total engine over haul. It's a glorifed valve job only. he fixed other parts and did a valve job. Yeah he got some over sized pistons an used jugs too. No lower end work was done to the crank.

With the metalic damage it was a mistake to not check the crank all the way thru, but that guy might get lucky.

Amen Mac. A job worth doing, is worth doing right the first time. Impatience and parsimony are killers.
