What number do you put your rear shocks on, and how much air do you put in?

How much experimenting did you have to do to find your ideal setting?

I like the #3 setting with 35lbs of air in them. I seems to ride nice and smooth and doesn't bottom out on hard bumps or when turing into some parking lots that have a bit of an upgrade when entering them. I ride solo most of the time and this works well for me, even when I do have a passenger its still quite good. I do notice that I have to check the pressure every 6-8 weeks as it seems to lose some air over time, I dont know if this is normal or if my shocks have a very slow leak in them. My bike has the fairing and beerbox on it so with the added weight that may be why #3 feels best for my bike. On a stock Nomad #2 may be sufficient.

For normal daily riding I was running 20 psi with the rebound on 2. With the bike loaded for trips I was running 25 psi and rebound on 3. But I have changed to the harder Corbin seat and have lowered the air to 16 psi with the rebound on 2. I am feeling alot more bumps with the Corbin. Oh yes, I am 6' 2" and 285 lbs.

I have used #2 on the rebound and no air for 2 yrs and feels great. With a passenger I bump the 2 to #3-#4 but still no air. i tried air(10 lbs) and rebound #2 for solo riding and it rode like a bucking brock(noticed every bump) so i went back to no air. if you had 2 up/luggage/loaded down yea maybe would need some air. I just like the smooth ride w/o air. my 2cw.

At 225# I also have the rebound on 2 with no air. Rides like a luxury car on smaller imperfections in the road and will bottom but it takes a lot to do that. I have had up to 10 lbs and it rides a bit harder.

I put the air balance kit in there and it has a slow leak.

Rebound on 3 with 18 pounds. Feels O.K. to me. We ride two-up most of the time.

Yep. I like it with 24 lbs for the twisties, but then bad freeway joints toss my wife up off the seat. I suppose she could just yell YEEHAW! each time, but I have to admit that the expression of her general dissatisfaction with being tossed several inches off the seat at 70mph trumped handling in the twisties, so I keep it around 15lbs.

Rebound 2, pressure 16 psi, balanced my shocks and have one central filling point (under my manometer)

I ride at 2 rebound and 15' air. I've tried without air but occasionally bottom out
