Zumo 550 owners- I need assistance

If this isn't where this belongs feel free to move it MR. Moderator.

I just purchased a Zumo 550 and my computer won't let me download the manual so I am winging it here.
Is it possible to power it from the cig lighter outlet I installed on my bike? It came with a power cord for the bike but it is a smi-permanent instal. I would have to leave the mount on the bike even if I remove the GPS.
Also the fuse is a F2AH 250V what ever that is.

Sounds like a 2 amp fuse with a max voltage rating of 250V.

The power connector plugs into the Garmin motorcycle mount at about the 3:00 position. It would be hidden behind the Zumo when it's in place. The connector would be to the right of center.

If I remember correctly you are on a dial-up. The manual is about 3.2 Megabytes. That may be why you are having trouble downloading it.

If you were able to download the installation guide the first step should look like this:

You should be able to get a plug that will fit into a cigarette lighter socket. They have them at Wally World or Radio Shack.

In the picture above the wire which contains the inline fuse is the positive or hot lead. The other wire is the ground.

Connect the positive lead of the power cable to the wire which connects to the center pin of the plug.

Connect the ground wire to the other wire on the plug.

If your cigarette lighter socket on your bike is wired correctly the pin in the center should be the hot wire and the outer part of the socket is the ground.

If it's not you'll spend they day blowing fuses and trying to figure would WHY. I won't say why I know that but my GPS power works now.
