If you could only have one...

If you could only have one road trip in the continental US, and you only had one week to do it, where would it be?

Thought this would be interesting from those that have really "travelled". Might help us less experienced plan some really enjoyable "trips". ;)

I've only done one real long trip, 4,000 miles. The rest are under 2,000.

For the first part of the trip I'd do Zions National Park in Utah, then up the road a bit to Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, HWY 12 and Capitol Reef National Park, then Canyonlands and Arches National Parks in Utah also. Then I'd head to HWY 550 in Colorado and then up to Rocky Mtn national park in Colorado. From there head up to the Black hills of South Dakota.

You now have half a week left to combine somebody else's answer :)

Although the US has some fantastic places to ride through, I would like to go on the Cabot Trail in eastern Canada, and through the rockies in western Canada. Ive been to both areas in a truck and motorhome in the past, but I think it would be unbeleivable on the bike.

I'd heard of the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. My neighbor (in Vermont your neighbor can live 2 miles away) has a Road Star Midnight Silverado and his wife won a weekend in Yarmouth. They're going by bike on the "Cat" (a hydrofoil) out of Portland, Maine.

If I had a week and all the money for a trip I'd go to Schell City, MO on a working farm vacation (my mom and dad's) I get to drive the tractor and help with farm chores and eat mom's cooking, and if I'm really good I get to go to the Sonic in Eldorado Springs, MO.

Will they let you park the bike in the aisle?

I think it would be fun to ride down the Mexican coast.

I'd guess, with the condition most airlines are in today, they would let you ride it on, and park it in the isle, if you pay an extra $1k to check it as oversized luggage. That, or you could offer to foot half the jet fuel cost.
