Anybody have one of these helmets?

Personally, I like beanie helmets, but that one does interest me. I like the idea of the zip-out ear flaps for those cold days. What website did you find it on?

Just google HJC AC-2M Vulcan and you'll get lots of hits. Helmet City is one that comes immediately to mind.

Anybody have one of these helmets?

I spoke to the manager at "The Helmet Source" yesterday. All though he does not have these in stock, he can order & said he might be able to beat the E-Bay price.

I tried a HJC half helmet on for size & they run pretty close to the same size as my Scorpion EXO. I wear a XL in both.

So if you're interested in getting one, let me get a price first. Just let me know if you want the flat black or gloss black & what size. -Rich

Having "field tested" the HJC AC-2M vs. concrete last week I can vouch for it's protective capabilities. I'll be buying a Vulcan model as a replacement, although I'd prefer it in a color other than black.

$99.95 with free shipping? Redeye, make mine gloss black in XL

Anybody have one of these helmets?

I hinted around to the wife a couple of weeks ago to get me one for my BD. I'll find out soon enough if she took the bait. I like the look.

Mine arrived last week and I like it. Being a version of the AC-2M gives me an extra headliner so I can keep a clean one on standby. Now to add some black reflective tape along the bottom edge. . .

LW, after going down you are not going to go to a full face helmet? Just curious as to the reasons why.
Don't take it the wrong way, it's your decision and a lot of riders go 3/4, 1/2 and beeny. I am just curious

Valid question TC.

Part of my decision to purchase the Vulcan lid was to own one when they discontinue the line. In my crash the half shell I was wearing did all that was asked of it. Other than the bruise on my nose, I dont see what injury a full face would have prevented. Granted my incident was relatively minor from a body impact standpoint.

I am still shopping helmets, and would like to have a modular provided I can find one I like. The two I've tried on made me feel pretty claustrophobic since the visor was very close to my nose. Another factor is the thermal intensity here in the suburb of Hades where I live. Summer temps and humidity levels make the wearing of nearly any helmet uncomfortable, but wrapping my whole head may prove unbearable due to no airflow. Around these parts, an air conditioned helmet is sorely needed.

I've had my Vulcan-2 helmet for 2-3 weeks now and it's great! Very comfortable and looks real sharp.

I bought one of these too. I usually wear a beanie style helmet year round when solo, and a 3/4 with a face shield when 2-up so I can use my comm system with my passenger. I wanted to try this one because it had the comm pouch. The comm system mounted very easily, but when I took the helmet on the road, it just about buffeted my brain loose. It's very comfortable for speeds below 40MPH. After that forget it. So, I found that HD sells comm pouches which you can mount to a beanie style helmet. I did that and it works wonderfully. Now I have one beanie style with comm, and one without. As for the Vulcan helmet, I don't know what I'm going to do about it.
