I know this goes without saying, but watch your speed. I just got off the phone with MarkG and he said he got pulled over just after entering Wyoming from Colorado. He said he was rolling along pretty good at about 90 indicated on the speedometer, and he saw a highway patrol car sitting in the median. He was clocked at 81 (10% speedo error) and got off with a warning. The cop picked him up on radar over a mile away.

I can see how this might happen to him, because in AZ they give you 10 MPH over the limit before they bother with you (in most cases). So here, you can do up to about 85 in a posted 75 MPH zone and not really have to worry.

Please, ride safe as you make your way to Custer (or wherever you're going) and don't push your luck.

South Dakota is usually pretty easy on motorcycles for speed because most of them ride and know that almost all bikes have speedo error. If slight speeding is your only violation they usually don't even bother to stop you.

Up here, 5 over will generally get you pulled over. Same for Nebraska.

in wyoming the highway patrol is particularly agressive on speeding.they will pull you over but quite often will let you
go with a warning.keep your speed reasonable and do not
split lanes.interstates in wyoming are 75 m.p.h. and most
secondary roads are posted at 65m.p.h.
