SENR Rally

Well, day 1 for Taminator and Coach is in the books. We left Crystal River around 9:00 a.m. and took 129/441 most of the way up...I say most of the way cause my Greta decided she didn't want to give me no more directions.

We are at Jenny's Creek Campground, just a tad north of Cleveland, GA for the night. I know Dick is gonna be pissed when he reads this cause we were about 40 miles from Blairsville, but we were plum worn out.

We had some ham samwiches and some Frosty Root Beer for dinner. Now we are sitting by the camp fire for the next few hours before bed.

OMG!!! That brings back the memories of the trip last year. I'm saying that I enjoyed the trip to Custer as much as I enjoyed the rally. I wish I could win the lottery so I could bank roll a rally we all could attend.

Y'all take care and enjoy yourselves. I wish I was there! You done good when you pulled over when you got tired.

Believe it or not if you arrive late to the rally, we'll start without cha!

No internet yesterday so I apologize for not updating the thread.

We rode up to Blairsville after meeting some friends for breakfast in Cleveland, GA. Went to dixie's house to meet up with him, Richard, Cliff, and Diana. I will say this for Dixie's house...WHAT A VIEW! And Richard has a very nice house too!

We went for a ride after David and Buttars got there (forgot about Goose and Deb but that is another story). We went to Clayton via Omaha (or so it seemed) to meet up with bigsid and Ross. Well, we waited for about an hour before we heard from Goose that he was in Blairsville waiting on us! So we went back to Blairsville, this time via Maine and got a chance to sit and chat with Goose and Deb before Ross and bigsid got in.

David and Buttars had to leave, as did Goose and Deb to head back to Cleveland, TN. So the rest of the crew went out for a fine seafood dinner at a place in Blairsville. When we got back to dixie's house, Richard treated us to a fine watermelon for desert. Hit the spot.

Today we rode up to to Kingsport, TN for the night. We took the most direct route...NOT! We went up 129 to Robinsville, and Richard, Tammy and I ended up on the Dragon...Tammy and I almost ended there, but that is another story. Then we took 28 along the river...very scenic route. When we got in NC, we took 208 up to Hot Springs. If you have never done this route, take my advice, don't do it pulling a Clampet Mobile. It is much more challenging than the Dragon and a heck of a lot longer. There musta been about a gazzilion curves and none were lazy ones. I loved it...Tammy not so much.

We are now waiting to finish the trip up to Staunton, VA tomorrow morning. Goose and Deb will be here in the morning and we will pick up Kawhead and his bride along the way.

I'll be posting some pictures tonight. Just getting all 400 uploaded into photobucket and then have to go through them for a slide show. Got a couple videos too.
