Helmet cleaning
Can anyone tell me how to clean the inside of my helmet? What is the best thing to use to get the sweat out? Actually I had a helmet given to me that I would like to use, but it needs cleaned first.

Helmet cleaning
What brand of helmet is it? Find the website for the helmet manufacturer and they usually have care and cleaning instructions. What can be done depends on the helmet. Some have removable liners, others don't.

i use a spray on helmet cleaner that i get from my local bike shop, you spray it on and let it sit for a few miniutes then wipe it off. it works great (cleans sanitises and deodorises) you can use it on the outside of the helmet too.

Helmet cleaning
Unless you know its history, a used helmet might not be the best idea, but depends on the circumstances. In any case, clean and free is good.

I remove the inserts for mine and very gently hand wash in warm soapy water. Then obviously rinse and lay on a flat surface in a cool shaded area to air dry. You need a strong stomach to handle the color of the water when the cleaning is done.
