MIM (Meet in the Middle) Get-Together

Just thought I'd pass some info along to those KawaNOW members in the Texas and surrounding areas about the MIM Get-Together put on by the Texas VROC (Vulcan Riders and Owners).

These guys and gals are a good bunch of people and would love to have any KawaNOW member attend. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to attend this year, but if you can, it would be well worth the effort. Here are the particulars:

Meet In the Middle is a rally for Texas VROC members held in Austin, TX on either the 3rd or last weekend of October each year. The actual location is in Cedar Park about 15 miles NW of Austin on US Hwy. 183. There is plenty of lodging and dining options in the area. Cedar Park is a safe and clean suburb. This is a weekend overnight event for most riders. We have organized rides and live music on Saturday night. Anyone is welcome to join us.

SCHEDULE

FRIDAY-For those arriving Friday, we will offer a late afternoon tour of the Capitol, downtown and if the summer weather holds out we can watch the Congress Avenue nightly bat departure. Then supper near town lake at Threadgills (World Headquarters), an Austin landmark. We need to KSU from Cedar Park by 3 pm. Departure will be at the SW corner of 183 & 1431 in Cedar Park in front of the now defunct Albertsons. Supper will be around 7 pm at Threadgills and you should be home to your lodgings by 10 pm at the latest.

SATURDAY-The big ride/party day. THE RIDES-We will likely have 2-3 different routes. We will post them soon on the forum. Most will start no later than 9 am and return by 4 pm or earlier. THE PARTY- Will be held at Tom's hacienda. Click here for a Google map. Snacks will be offered at the party but may not last if you get there late. BYO fluids, there will be storage. In addition there will be live music provided by The Fricks, a great blues band. The band will start sometime after 8 pm and play about 2 hours in Tom's large, open air garage/studio. Feel free to begin your arrival as early as 5 pm. We may also have an early afternoon band opening for the Fricks between 6-7 pm. Finally we will be giving away some sweet prizes at the party (FREE), so leave room in your bags! The party will wrap up around 11 pm.

SUNDAY-We break camp and depart. For those not in a hurry we have a brunch adios planned for 10 am @ INFO COMING

If anyone from the Houston area is going let me know cause me and a few other riders are riding up there Friday the 19th in the morning so we can get our gear stowed at the motel before the evening tour starts.
