I pity the poor downtrodden blokes who think they have to ask in the first place.

Seeing as you don't have to ask anyone when you want to buy a bike why are you still riding around on a 20 year old bike that breaks down on a regular basis

Because i love the old thing, and have since i first saw it.I might have to give it a spruce up at some stage, but i dont plan on ever replacing it.And considering it's been ridden every day,in all weathers, for the last 6yrs,i dont think its done bad at all.In fact it's always got me where i wanted to go,and back again.

Easy there Mick. It has been down for repairs quite often lately if I remember.

I knock 6 months off every year when the bike is in storage for the winter.
They last twice as long that way.

Winter certainly takes it toll on a bike.We only had about an inch of snow one night so far this year, but they salted the roads anyway. That stuff eats the crap out of everything.

I reckon we have had about 2 feet of snow so far this winter.
I shoveled the driveway 4 times this week.

Hey nipper. While you are looking at you're bikes,in the heated garage.Wondering which one you are going to put 300 miles on this year.Have a jig around to this little tune.It will bring a smile to you're face, knowing i am out there, freezing my bollocks of .

Seriously, 300 miles.
Cindy and I put 300 miles on our bikes on a one day trip.
My 2007 Nomad had 88,000 miles on it when I sold it and my 2008 had 64,000 miles on it when I sold it.

We ride our bikes, that is why we bought them
We average about 16,000 miles a year. That is 7 months of riding weather not 12.

Fair play to you mate. I can remember way back, showing some photo's of my rides through the local countryside.A couple of people were amazed to see the difference between England and America.16000 miles is a long way over here. But then we do have bends in the road to break the monotony I recall someone saying that they could ride for half a day before they saw a tree. How interesting must that be ?

Not all roads are straight here Mick.
We have many great roads here in my state and awesome scenery.
Mountains and lakes to ride around.I will grant you some states have long straight roads with no curves, I stay away from those when on a trip.
