89-96 Motor Needed

I have a 93 Vulcan 1500 I am in need of a motor, the information I have is a 89-96 motor will swap.

I was talking to a man named Judge who makes a kit to replace the plastic drive gear for the oil pump in the 87-99 Vulcan 1500 and he says that any A series motor with dual carbs will work this would be any A series motor from 87 the first year of the Vulcan 1500 all the way to 99?

Have you seen this one?
This is a 1988, will it not fit? Call Rick's I'm sure they would tell you about it.

Nothing like a little attitude to break the ice, is there?

The fact is that this forum is for Kawasaki Vulcan Baggers (Nomad/Vaquero/Voyager).

The oldest bike a member here would have would be a 1999 Nomad. You might have better luck on the VROC forum http://www.vroc.org/ they support all vulcan models.

Maybe he thinks you should read the item description.

1988 VN1500A
ITEM DETAILS:

PARTS OFF OF A MOTORCYCLE WITH 16,242 MILES!

This is a nice used engine that came off of an 88 VN1500 A model motorcycle. This comes with the stator, rotor, cover, and pick ups. There is NO starter motor and NO idler gear. The engine shifts through all the gears. It does not knock, ping, or smoke. As with all used parts there are scratches.

You seem to have quite an attitude, for a newby asking for help, perhaps you would be better off searching elsewhere.

Any 1500/1600 will fit. But the newer motor will require different exhaust as the early ones, like the 'A' model, had a different exhaust location on the rear cylinder.
