Speaking of articles???

I've never much of a magazine subscriber; but have been flirting with the idea of getting a motorcycle rag that isn't partial/by-ass to make/models or $$ advertisers. What is the consensus of you folks on the best to get??

I find Roadbike a little thin on substance atitmes. MC is good, especially since Mark Zimmerman got there. MCN is very good too. No advertising, which is a plus. I also get BMW MOA's ON magazine. It's as good as anything out there even though it's brand specific and it's included with the membership dues, which is $40 a year. It's worth it just for the mag alone. One mag I won't buy is Motorcyclist. Since Catterson took over, it's become sportbike world and greenie world. Don't give a crap about electric bikes. Cycle World is good. Kevin Cameron is worth the price alone.

I subscribe to Motorcycle Cruiser, Roadbike, Hot Bike Baggers, Rider, American Bagger and V-Twin.

I'm not going to renew Rider because they are geared too much toward the adventure biker for my taste. I like looking at big custom v-twins. If I wanted to look at beemers and the like, I'd cruise the gay bars in Scottsdale.

Motorcycle Cruiser and RoadBike are the most generic, the others are pretty Harley-oriented.

May be you should cruise. You'd get to ride a different kind of bike.

What was the original question of this thread??

Oh yeah... motorcycle magazines....

I like motorcycle calendars; like the one I saw today in the shop when inspecting the work being done on my bike at the dealer.

It was a BIG calendar picture... not sure what motorcycle was in the picture though.

Cycle World has been on the table here for about 25 years. I've tried Cruiser, Sport Bikes, Rider, V-Twin, Motorcycle Baggers, Motorcyclists, Motorcycle News and Performance Bikes. I think there were one or two more but don't remember the names. I think Cycle World is a good read.

Peter Egan and Kevin Cameron are great. Steve Anderson is a very good writer too.
