Cobra Tach, "worth" it?(What I went with(VIDEO)

Looking to add a tachometer and am leaning towards the 01-1940. Can anyone on here that uses this tach tell me.....Is it worth the extra coinage output? Thanks.

Update, I installed the tach last night.

I don't have the cobra tach. I think its just too small. I run the black face Baron's 3" tach. I mounted mine between the risers. Love it

Just pulled the trigger on this. 4 left. $125.00 seems like a great deal. I went as far as $110.00 on the make an offer and was declined.

I had this tach on a V-Star 1100, then put it on my Vulcan 1500. 78,000 miles between the two and it never missed a beat. However, the color display was a bit of a pain. Mine would default to red, which I hated, I'd then have to scroll through the colors, and none was close to matching my speedo. I now have the Baron 3 in. blackface on my Nomad.

That's a good price.

Kybenz. "Is it worth the extra coinage output" you asked.
Is a tach really necessary, nope.

That is your opinion.
A tach is necessary for some of us
I was always looking to up shift from 5th for some reason, I can look at the tack now and see if I am in 5th or 4th.
I know, I know you can tell by the sound what gear your in but some of us older guys don't have the superior hearing others have.

I was asking if the Cobra tach was worth the extra money...not if a tach was "necessary".
Most things we put on our scoots including whatever goodies you may have on your own ride are usually not necessary, but when we add something it is good to get helpful input from the group.
Thanks to those who gave input that I could use.

I thought you were asking for pros and cons ? A tach is like power windows and doors, a convenience, not a neccessity. If you want one get one, its your bike.

I opted for the tach but thought the power windows and doors would be more trouble than they were worth on my bike
You know, having to open the door at every stop to put your foot down.

I don't have one yet, but I think that's a fair price. I'm sill leaning toward a fairing with gauges.

Yeah, I would like a fairing as well on my lowly Classic and will eventually get one. That is why I try to find awesome deals on accessories. That way when I pull them off and replace them with something different I can still get a pretty good resale price. Kinda like renting the part.
Now to find a deal on the power windshield with the defogging option.
