What type of rear shocks are these?

My Nomad has some air shocks on the rear that appear to be OEM, but the spring is chrome, not black like what my other two Nomads had. They are the correct 12.5" length. Does anyone know what they are?

I have seen them somewhere before but I can't place it at the moment. If I remember I'll let you know. If they are in good working order use them as normal.

Yah, they worked just fine during my 1500 mile ride home. I'm just kinda wonder if they are after market or OEM?

I think the springs on my 07 are chrome, but I will have to look tomorrow to be sure. I'll have my people get a hold of your people.

They look like the stock ones that are on my buddies 06 vulcan classic.

The classic doesn't have air shocks.

I just did a bit of research and you are right. The older 1600 classics (2003-2005) had four-way rebound damping and four-way preload adjustment, but the newer ones have the air-assist.

I'm willing to bet that you are correct and that these are off of a 1600 classic! I have worked on a friends 2004 1600 classic and that is what was throwing me off. Thanks!

Hmmmmm? The Nomad in my signature pic was an 06 and had a black springs. The one I'm working on now is also an 06? Maybe in some regions the spring changes? Again, not really a big deal...

No worries, Scott. This bike wasn't appreciated for it's first 16K miles, so I'll have to give it extra love for the next 100K. :)

This picture was taken right after I got it home from TX and was removing all the parts to start the work on it. Now it is nice and shiny, with new tires and LOTS of extras. The tins are getting painted and hopefully the bike will be up and ready to ride with in a week or so.
