Chuckster Risers For Vaquero

Looking to possibly get the Chuckster risers for the Vaquero. Interested in feedback from anyone who has installed these on their Vaq. Will all the cables be long enough to accommodate these risers? Thanks in advance for any input.

I have a 2012 Voyager, but the handle bar part numbers are the same. Chucksters 1.5" Voyager risers are a very well made item with great potential. Although they only go up, the angle of the fork and triple tree create substantial pullback too. There is no issue with the throttle cables or wiring. They do stretch the front brake hose to it's limit. They do cause the bars to hit the dash. The steering stop limit can be rectified, by simply installing a mini gear clamp around the round stop peg on the frame. That tiny bit or an additional piece of shim stock between the round stop and the hose clamp can create enough dash clearance for full lock turns. (I wrapped the peg with a piece of aluminum license plate and installed the clamp). Be aware of the steering bearing seal and don't go too large on the diameter. There is some slop when you get all the pieces stacked up. Being off a tiny bit while tightening caused my bars to be off from straight slightly. Just be aware when tightening and you will be fine. I think I can live with the brake hose, but I may try to "tweak" it. I can now slide back into the seats lumbar and not feel my backrest pushing me forward. I'm 5' 10" 190 lbs. with shorter arms. Hopes this help as I wish I could have found more detailed info first.

Were you able to install without removing the fairing?

All you need is a deep socket, flex joint and 6" extension. A helper would be beneficial. Chucksters bolts are a little long. Cutting a half in or so off would help the deep socket bottom better. Mine haven't moved a spec since I installed them. Don't forget to cover the front fender with a blanket! Gravity sucks! Always drop something!

Yes the steering locks. I have to be honest, when I checked operation, it was the first time ever locked.

Risers

One more question. Did you notice an icrease/decrease in vibration? Mirror vibe?
I find as I ride now, my left arm and shoulder seem to ache, almost like I'm fighting to reach the bars.

I put them on my 2011 Voyager 3 years ago. No more sore shoulders or back pain and the mirrors are rock solid. No cable changes either. Well worth the price.

Ditto. I'm 5' 10" with shorter arms. Did the trick for me. I can do 12 hour days in the saddle if needed now. A driver backrest is the other half of the equation. My mirrors are usually dirty enough I don't pay much attention to them. Not a major blur though.

Risers

Has anyone else noticed while sitting in the saddle and looking forward, the left riser appears to be closer to the dash? Is this an optical illusion?
I know at full right it will make contact with the dash.

Mine was that way even before the I installed the riser extensions. Still that way even with a piece of heater hose on the stop (back to how it was before the extensions). I don't worry about it, figure if the bars do hit the fairing hard enough to damage it, I'll have other things to worry about.

Thanks for the response. I never noticed how the stock risers looked closer.
